Preliminary retrospective evidence suggests 4K 3D exoscopes are technically feasible for stapedotomy, but the study design is too limited to justify switching from operative microscopes without prospective, controlled confirmation.
If validated, exoscope technology could improve surgical ergonomics and visualization in otologic procedures, potentially broadening access to high-quality ear surgery training and outcomes.
