Temporal Bone Remodeling After Transverse Sinus Stenting for Pulsatile Tinnitus: Patterns, Temporal Evolution and Relationship with Clinical Outcome

AND PURPOSE: Stent placement effectively relieves venous pulsatile tinnitus caused by transverse sinus stenosis with sigmoid sinus wall dehiscence. However, the spectrum of temporal bone remodeling remains poorly characterized.

Temporal bone remodeling after transverse sinus stenting is a documented post-procedure phenomenon; audiologists managing pulsatile tinnitus patients referred for stenting should be aware that bone changes may correlate with clinical outcome, though this does not yet alter audiology-specific management.

Transverse sinus stenting is a growing intervention for venous pulsatile tinnitus, and understanding post-stent temporal bone remodeling may help predict treatment success and guide multidisciplinary follow-up.
