Is the NEW Phonak EON Sphere REALLY better than Phonak Infinio Sphere? At EUHA 2026, audiologist Matthew Allsop sits down with Phonak's Michael Preuss to discuss what's actually changed, including speech clarity, AI technology, battery life, Auracast connectivity and more. Michael isn't just a Senior Audiology Manager at Phonak. He's also a lifelong hearing aid wearer with severe-to-profound hearing loss, giving him a unique perspective on the technology he helps develop and test. In this exclusive interview for HearingTracker, we explore: - Phonak EON Sphere vs Infinio Sphere: What's different, and what does it mean for hearing aid wearers? - Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0: How Phonak's redesigned AI processing aims to improve conversations in noisy environments. - AutoSense OS AI 8.0: Why the hearing aids can respond more consistently to changing listening situations. - Battery life: Why the smaller EON Sphere has up to 38 hours of maximum runtime, despite its improved power efficiency. - Battery longevity: Michael explains Phonak's accelerated charging-cycle testing. - Auracast: How EON connects to Auracast broadcasts and what Phonak has planned for existing Infinio hearing aids in 2027. - WindBlock 2.0: The new approach to managing wind noise while maintaining speech and environmental awareness. Perhaps the most interesting part of our conversation is Michael's personal experience. Having worn hearing aids since the age of three, he explains why the latest technology has given him the confidence to handle noisy situations he previously avoided. Whether you currently wear Phonak Infinio, are considering upgrading to EON Sphere, or simply want to discover what's new in hearing aid technology for 2026, I hope you find this conversation useful. __________________ CHAPTERS 00:00 Phonak EON at EUHA 2026 01:06 Michael Preuss: A lifelong hearing aid wearer 02:01 Phonak EON vs Infinio: What's improved? 02:23 AutoSense OS AI 8.0 in noisy environments 03:58 How Phonak's new AI processes speech 04:30 EON Sphere battery life explained 05:38 Michael's experience hearing in background noise 06:26 EON vs Infinio: The battery-life trade-off 08:17 Battery health after years of charging 08:49 Water, sweat and durability testing 10:46 Auracast and compatibility with older Phonak hearing aids 12:34 WindBlock 2.0: Reducing wind noise __________________ MORE ABOUT PHONAK EON HearingTracker's Phonak EON launch coverage: https://www.hearingtracker.com/news/phonak-eon-debuts-smaller-sphere-auracast-and-windblock Official Phonak EON Sphere information: https://www.phonak.com/en-uk/hearing-devices/hearing-aids/audeo-eon-sphere __________________ Subscribe to HearingTracker for expert hearing aid reviews, new hearing technology, and interviews with the people developing the latest innovations.
