Results are preliminary — a single case-control study is insufficient to recommend routine vitamin D screening or supplementation for bilateral vestibulopathy patients without replication in larger prospective studies.
If a modifiable nutritional factor like vitamin D is confirmed to contribute to bilateral vestibulopathy, it could open a low-cost avenue for prevention or adjunct treatment in a condition that currently has very limited therapeutic options.
