Firefighting is one of the most noise-intensive professions, exposing firefighters to hazardous sound levels every day. From emergency sirens and fire truck engines to power tools, alarms, and rescue equipment, constant noise exposure can lead to permanent hearing loss and compromise on-the-job safety. That’s why Brooklyn Park firefighter Ian Planchon relies on SoundGear Phantom hearing protection by Starkey. Designed for first responders and other high-noise environments, SoundGear Phantom helps protect hearing from damaging noise while allowing users to stay aware of critical sounds. Whether communicating with teammates, monitoring their surroundings, or responding to emergencies, firefighters can maintain situational awareness without sacrificing hearing protection.
